Legendary Drummer Brian Melvin will celebrate his 65th Bday at The SweetWater on Nov 19th. Brian is a native San Franciscan and is well known internationally. Brian has played and recorded six legendary records with Hall of fame bassist Jaco Pastorius. Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead joined on Brians Nightfood Album and did a string of shows as well with Brian and Jaco. Brian has played and recorded with John Scofield, Michael Brecker, Mike Stern, Joe Henderson and led his group Beatlejazz along with pianist David Kikoski. Brian has recorded two CDs with his group Fog which featured Jeff Chimenti on Piano. Brian has lived in Tallinn Estonia the past twenty years and has played all over Europe with many of todays leading players. Brian has a new CD coming called Tranesformation in a tribute to John Coltrane featuring the great Danish guitarist Soren Lee. Brian is looking forward to this incredible celebration of music.
